We are sitting at the gate, about to board our flight to Istanbul. Packed for the next… six months… year…?
Despite being sad to leave home, I like sitting at the gate and seeing all the people going on holiday, going home, going on business. Hearing the language whose words we have been repeating for the last week, while trying to learn some basics. The last few people are trickling into the boarding area. Announcements are being made. Kids are running around and between the rows of adults sitting staring at newspapers and iPhones.
