This micro-unit project was based in New York City as a response to the need for affordable housing in the city and the limited space available. The primary consideration for this project was the site restrictions and zoning requirements. The angled facade and large windows helps the inhabitant to feel like the micro-units are more spacious than they are and allows for a view down the street. Each micro-unit has it’s own balcony, bathroom, kitchenette and bedroom/living area. All spaces are Wheelchair accessible.
Building includes: Shared back yard with large Willow tree, shared rooftop garden, two means of egress and an elevator, entrance lobby and bike storage space.
16 micro-units ranging from 250 sqft – 350 sqft
